If you haven't heard, Redux moved into a new and BEYOND improved space. Me and my fellow studio artists have gradually been moving in and making our new studios our own. I can't tell you how happy this space makes me. It is a dream come true!
The original Redux was a major labor a love and one that I am thankful to have been a part of. It was founded by passionate and creative people who made the best of what they were given. Redux has given many local artists a home and a chance to develop their dreams into a reality. I was so excited to be accepted as a studio artist last year and to make Studio #9 in the annex my home away from home.
While our old home on St Philip was very well loved, it wasn't the most ideal space for gallery shows or working artists. Space was limited, parking was a challenge, and natural light was nonexistent. The new space, located on 1056 King street, is a working artist's HEAVEN. Not only do our individual studios meet our needs, but the overall space is much more welcoming for our guests. We are now able to comfortably host events and shows, as well as offer artists and ideal environment and more opportunities to develop their craft. Exciting and inspiring things are sure to come!
I'd like to especially thank fellow Redux artist (and studio neighbor!), Nickie Stone, for my first round of artist portraits in the new space. Hope to laugh over the lens with you again soon xoxo
