So, I’m an artist now.  At least that’s what I’ve been telling people when I’m asked the unavoidable “what do you do??” question.  I’ve been asked that question my entire adult life, and I'm finally enthusiastic about my reply.

It’s true, I am an artist.  I’ve been one my whole life, so I might as well start acting like one.  Which also means, I better start “marketing” myself… ugh.  This is not an aspect of the industry that comes natural to most of us "creatives".  I think we’d all rather be losing track of time in the studio than thinking about e-blasts and business cards.

Alas, it is an unavoidable part of being self-employed.  So I count myself incredibly lucky to have some very wonderful and talented friends who can help me with this whole marketing thing.

Insert: my lovely lady friend, Victoria Parmenter.  She is a jack of all trades, including photography.  We struck up a little creative deal: she commissioned “Buddha Betty” and in return I get some kickass artist portraits.

These are some of my favorites.  I’m already using some on the website and others will pop up in materials many more moons to come.  It was a very silly, but fun morning, and I think I got the better end of the stick in this creative exchange ☺

Thanks a million, Vic! Come over for wine & cheese on the porch ASAP! xoxo
